The fan gifts arrived on November 17 at Hero’s Seoul filming location in a truckload containing fifteen boxes. Lee Junki had been taking a brief break from filming at the time of arrival, and hearing that they’d come from his overseas fans, he opened the boxes himself to confirm the sight.

Lee said, “I was so surprised and thankful. I want to hang them all up at home. The fans act without being bound to nationality and it seems like they have the ability to always surprise me. Lee Jun Ki : “Hero is perfect fit for me in terms of the role and drama”

November 23rd, 2009

Actor Lee Jun Ki has reveal that his role in “Hero” is perfect fit for him!

Lee Jun Ki said “I just enjoy coming out here. It’s fun just being on set and I never stop laughing. I feel like I’ve finally met the perfect fit for me in terms of the role and drama. I try a larger variety of acting for each take than I used to. Before, I used to prepare in advance and just show exactly that but I now try out more things than what I rehearsed using all sorts of expressions and ways of speech. I really want to give as much as I can for this role.”

It sort of feels like I’m just hanging out on set. I was dashing this way and rushing that way in the beginning which added a bit more of the fun element to each scene and like today, we got to wear disguises for the dance hall scene. Even Mr. Baek Yoon-shik is moving around more for his role in this drama.

Lee Jun-ki Picked to Promote Korean Tourism

August 17th, 2009

Actor and singer Lee Jun-ki was named the promotional ambassador of the Korea Tourism Organization on Wednesday.

Lee‘s popularity across Asia has been proven by a number of concerts given in Korea and overseas. A concert held in Seoul last April in collaboration with the Shanghai branch of the KTO attracted 2,500 fans from Asia, including 180 from China. Two concerts in China in May, including one held in Suzhou, lured over 10,000 fans, and shows in Yokohama and Kobe last month drew over 9,000 Japanese fans.

“I’ve thought of my role as kind of a cultural ambassador, so I really enjoyed it when I was a promotional ambassador for the Korean Wave in 2008,” Lee said. “I’m very proud to have this opportunity to represent Korea in 2009, and I would like to take this chance to show a better and positive image of myself and my country.”

Lee Junki and Han Ji-min together in ‘Hero’

August 15th, 2009

Finally, some news on Lee Junki’s new drama, Hero, which was announced last year but has remained rather quiet. The drama was first titled “Strange Heroes,” then “Unseen War,” and is now back to “Hero,” although the production indicates it is a working title.

Cast as the female lead is Cain and Abel’s spunky Han Ji-min, who plays a passionate reporter with a strong sense of responsibility who often grows furious at social irregularities. Lee Junki’s a reporter who rushes recklessly into accidents and incidents without fear; he’s also a guy “who doesn’t have much, nor does he want much.” As ordinary citizens, the reporters stand up against the inequalities between society’s masses and its very elite.

Lee Junki and Han Ji-min have both had very good luck with their last few projects; his Time of Dog and Wolf and Iljimae were both action hits, while her Cain & Abel and Yi San both enjoyed good ratings. We’ll see if that luck continues when they combine forces in this latest project.

Hero will begin filming in September when it finishes casting. The series will air on Wednesdays and Thursdays on MBC this fall.
